When: On 27 February 2007 the Road Safety Act 2006 comes
into force in the UK

has increased penalties
You must not:

Cause or permit a driver to drive while holding
a mobile phone
Penalties: If you breach the law the new penalties

Fixed penalty notice fine increased to £60
Cases dealt with by the court can incur a fine of up
to £1,000 or £2,500 for drivers of goods vehicles,
buses or coaches.
